The Marble Sprint
Finding a clear glass marble resting midway along the recessed slat of a park bench, I couldn't resist a test of agility. The wooden groove formed a pristine bowling lane. Planting my heels firmly, I delivered a gentle, calibrated tap with the toe of my boot. The glass sphere hummed as it coasted along the weathered cedar grain, picking up steady momentum toward the edge. I dashed forward alongside it in quick, disciplined strides, then cupped both hands at the far brink just in time to intercept it before it tumbled off. Holding the cool globe triumphantly, I gave my cuffs a neat, satisfied flick.
