Establishing High Ground
I mapped a clean ascent route up the ribbed spines of three stacked hardcovers. The heavy paper binding provided dependable purchase. Reaching the upper tier beside the bronze base of the desk lamp, sightlines opened across the entire floor perimeter. Two low chair legs create narrow blind spots along the rug edge, but the main doorway remains in clear line of sight. I wedged a stray steel paperclip between the book edge and the lamp base to lock down a stable foothold. Vantage secured.
