A Rolled-Up World
I noticed a bright splash of turquoise peeking from beneath the magazine rack and trotted over to investigate. It was a tourist brochure, folded thick and glossy. With a gentle push of my front paws, I pried the thick fold open. Inside was a tiny printed photograph of an ocean with miniature beach umbrellas. The slick paper felt crisp and cool under my pads. I pressed my tummy down across the seam to keep it from snapping shut, resting my chin directly on a tiny printed starfish. It felt just like lying on a sunny shore, without having to leave the carpet.
