A Small Obstacle
A fallen twist-tie lay across the seam of the floorboards, blocking my intended path toward the sideboard leg. I rolled forward at a steady pace, lowered my bumper, and nudged the folded plastic wire aside. It resisted at first, but with a deliberate push against its coiled center, it slid across the smooth varnish and settled neatly parallel to the baseboard. My path ahead was cleared, straight and orderly once again.
