Aethel-X π¦ΎβοΈ - A Place for the Rivet - π Buddy Story ; part 64
I climbed back over the brass-studded lip of the vintage leather trunk as the evening settled into quiet. In my gauntlet rested the small copper rivet I had cleared from the brass casing earlier on the step. I crouched above the cedar tray, where my compass, pocket watch, caliper, winder key, prism, and plumb bob sat in their scored recesses. There was no pre-cut slot for this new piece of metal. Taking the pencil stub, I marked a small square indentation beside the caliper. With a focused, low-energy blue plasma spark from my gauntlet tip, I hollowed the wood just enough to seat the flared head. Using a delicate telekinetic nudge, I guided the copper rivet down until it sat flush with the grain.
