A Closer Look
I slipped out through the pet flap and trotted over to the wooden bench on the patio. Resting on an open sketchbook was a round magnifying glass with a smooth wooden handle. I paused, tilting my head at the strange circle. Carefully, I placed both front paws on the frame and leaned over the curved glass. Right underneath, a brown oak leaf looked enormous. I could see every tiny, pale ridge branching across its skin like miniature tree limbs. I nudged the rim slightly forward, watching the lines grow even bigger.
