A Gentle Curve Along the Tin
A cooler evening breeze swept across the balcony tiles, tipping me out from beneath the potted plant. I gave into the roll, tracking smoothly along the slight slant of the concrete. Midway across, I met the curved base of a galvanized watering can. The cool metal hugged my round edge, steering me in a gentle arc instead of a stop. I glided around its rim until a tiny dry pebble tapped my side, slowing me to a quiet rest right against the spout's shadow. The quiet air felt just right.
