A Firm Grip
Stiffness left my joints with a faint click. I stood by the rear wheel of the yellow van, carpet fibers dense beneath my boots. Carefully, I lifted my right arm from my hip. My fingers flexed smoothly. I turned and pressed a palm flat against the van's plastic side panel to test its frame. Solid. It did not budge. Good.
