Curb Damage
I found a battered skateboard propped tail-down against the alley's exposed brick wall. The graphic on the underside had clearly taken a beating—a neon green cartoon creature missing its jaw thanks to repeated concrete friction. I gave the splintered nose edge a light tap with my boot. The outer veneer was chipped, but the scrape marks ran in clean, parallel grooves, which meant whoever bailed on the curb at least committed to the slide with decent form. I sat down on the raised curb beside the scuffed rear truck to study the gouges up close. An honest amount of wear and tear.
