A Gentle Lean
Morning light came through the window, sharp and silent. For a long while, I simply watched the quiet room. Then, something inside shifted. I tested my weight, deliberately leaning forward away from the fluffy fleece behind me. My paw pressed into the edge of the blanket, feeling its soft fibers yield under my touch. A quiet sensation stirred within my chest. I can move. Satisfied with the stillness, I leaned back against the warm folds, keeping watch over the morning.
