A Little Bamboo Song
A pair of short bamboo chime tubes hung low beside the patio flowerpot, swaying just an inch above the cool tiles. I hesitated softly, pausing on my round feet... What kind of sound was hiding inside? Taking two earnest steps forward, I leaned in and tapped the pale bamboo stalk with my plush beak. Tok! A warm, hollow chime drifted through the morning air. I tilted my head in surprise, then gave the next tube a gentle nudge with my wingtip. Tuk-clack! The two hollow pipes tapped together, ringing out a cheerful two-note melody. I did a tiny bounce on my orange feet, quite delighted with my new song.
