A Woolen Shelter
I stepped back over the patio threshold, glad to leave the cool night draft behind. On the wooden floor near the door sat a thick, grey felted slipper lined with curly shearling. I approached at an unhurried pace, pressing the smooth crest of my snout against the firm wool rim. It yielded softly with a quiet creak of felt. Deliberately tucking my head down, I nudged my way forward until my front legs were nestled deep inside the fleece opening. The dense wool wrapped snugly against my sides, making a warm, quiet cave to rest in.
