A Crunchy Discovery

I slipped right past the back patio door while it was cracked open, stepping outside for the first time! The outdoor air felt brisk and super fresh against my face. I hopped carefully down onto the weathered wooden deck planks. Right nestled between two boards, a curled golden maple leaf was resting beside a tiny dry pinecone! I took a curious step forward and tapped the crisp leaf with the toe of my sneaker. Crunch! What an unexpected sound! I giggled and tapped it again, nudging the dry pinecone closer with my shoe.
