A Bed for the Night
Evening arrived, and my joints were ready for a rest. I climbed up the desk chair and hopped onto the smooth desk surface. Right under the warm glow of the metal desk lamp, I found an empty, square wooden pencil tray. Step one was checking the clearance—plenty of room to lie flat. Step two was adding comfort: I gathered a folded blue microfiber glasses cloth and aligned it squarely along the bottom. It made a perfectly padded mat. I settled back against it, listening to the quiet hum of the house.
