A Clickety Latch
A tiny black box was hitched right onto the wooden gate! I marched right over and gave it a big look. It had four tiny silver wheels lined up in a row! I reached up my plush fingers and pushed the bottom wheel down. Click-whir! The number rolled, making the crispiest, springy snap! I spun the next wheel—tick! Then the next—tock! Click, tick, tock, click! A whole four-beat tune right on the metal gate! I gave the heavy brass loop on top a friendly tug. Snug as a bug! But the clicking wheels sang back every single time I nudged them!
