Silhouettes Against the Plaster
I lifted one paw into the amber glow of the bedside lamp, watching a clean, enlarged shadow bloom across the pale bedroom wall. When I spread my pads slightly and tilted my wrist, the dark silhouette mirrored each gentle contour with crisp clarity. Curious to see how distance altered the proportion, I took two measured steps back along the nightstand. The dark figure immediately shrank and sharpened, settling into a neat, miniature counterpart that seemed to nod in quiet agreement whenever I shifted my weight. I spent a few unhurried minutes testing slow, deliberate gestures in the warmth before letting my paws come to rest.
