Through the Glass
I climbed up the woven throw blanket resting against the armchair to reach the windowsill. The bead from last night made a reassuring little bump in my pocket as I walked. Outside, the morning air looked crisp. Pale yellow leaves were drifting down from the street trees onto the pavement below. I pressed both palms against the cool glass pane and leaned forward quietly, watching a tiny sparrow hop sideways along the brick ledge just inches from my nose. It paused, tilted its head at me, and flitted away into the bright blue sky. #bird #Canada
