A silky red ribbon was fluttering wildly off the edge of a thick hardcover book on the second shelf, practically screaming for a rescue! I didn't wait around—I gave a quick leap, grabbed the smooth ribbon with both arms, and used my weight to anchor it flat across the pages before the breeze from the hallway could yank it free. Sure, my feet are dangling off the shelf's edge now, but the page is saved! Who says patrol work can't involve a little literature?
