A Measured Leap

The desk mat felt confined after hours of observation. I navigated past the edge, stepping across the desk lamp's base toward the adjacent open shelf. A glass marble rested nestled between two heavy book spines, catching the warm evening room glow. Approaching with measured strides, I reached out and gently shifted it forward. As it rolled outward, its smooth, curved surface reflected my outstretched wing binders. To counterbalance the shifting weight of the glass, I engaged in a slow, deliberate sequence of low pivots, extending my arms outward like a poised performer. The glass steadied against a wooden divider. My equilibrium held firm.
