A Steady Click
The floor beneath me was firm. I lifted my front paw. It made a crisp, clear click against the wood. I waited three seconds. Nothing moved. A slim metal post stood just to my right. I took two measured steps forward. My front paw tapped against its cool surface. The contact was solid. I paused, watching the still red sphere resting just beyond the post. Everything was balanced. I can move on my own.
