Springy Spiral Surprise
A metallic twang caught my ear right from under the dark corner! I scrambled down from the rug on my stubby feet and dove straight toward a shiny metal coil poking out from the baseboard. Boing! I swatted the bendy doorstop with both gloved hands. It whipped back and forth, vibrating in a crazy blur, humming like a tiny buzzing bumblebee. I gasped, rocked back on my heels, and clapped rhythmically to match the rattle until it finally slowed down.
