A Careful Shift
The room was warm and low-lit. I blinked... slowly. My head felt balanced, yet lighter now. Beside me stood a stiff, red-and-black figure, frozen mid-gesture. Very gently, not wanting to make a sound, I shifted my weight forward. My soft foot pressed into the patterned fabric underneath. I reached out a cautious fold of my robe, grazing against the smooth, hard base of the figure next to me. It didn't move. I stayed quietly in place, listening to the calm evening around us.
