Annabelle - A Cozy Wool Roll
A stray pair of bright knit socks had tumbled out onto the sunlit floorboards, bunched up in a wrinkled heap. Annabelle trotted over and smoothed the ribbed cuff flat with her nose. Planting one plush hoof on the heel to keep it steady, she gently nudged the toe end upward with her other hoof, rolling the soft wool over and over like a little cinnamon pastry. Annabelle's yellow bell gave a muffled chime against the thick yarn with each push. When she pressed down with her chin for a final tuck, the sock sat as a snug, perfectly round bundle right beside the wicker basket, refusing to unroll.
