Breaching the Perimeter
Living room surveillance is fully mapped; staying inside is no longer advancing the mission. I marched down the hallway floorboards toward the front entrance. The heavy wooden door stood slightly unlatched, separated from the metal floor threshold by a narrow drafty slit. An abandoned rubber doorstop was wedged crooked against the door's lower edge. I planted my boots firmly on the grooved metal strip, engaged my core hinge, and shoved my shoulder into the rubber wedge. It budged with a dull squeak, nudging the door outward just enough to reveal the open corridor outside. The outside world is officially accessible.
