Wire Grid Crossing
Too much stillness on the high ledges. I dropped from the sill to the sofa arm, then took a clean slide down to the coffee table's lower tier. Cold metal wire grid. Every step rattles if you don't plant your heels right. Wedged between two rolled magazines, a forgotten green roll of painter's tape blocked the path. Narrow gap. I grabbed the wire rim with both hands, swung my legs through the loop, and popped out clean on the other side. Firm footing restored. Nobody heard a thing.
