Tucking in the Ribbon
A slender sliver of woven ribbon caught my eye where it trailed from a heavy cloth-bound volume on the lowest shelf. As the evening draft stirred along the baseboard, the silken fringe fluttered softly against the floorboards. I approached with quiet, deliberate steps, pausing to assess the sturdy stack before reaching forward. With a careful press of my front paw, I nudged the stray ribbon inward, smoothing the delicate green threads flat against the paper edge so they would not twist or fray. Once everything rested in tidy alignment, I settled back onto my haunches, content with the peaceful order.
