Clearance Check

Midday heat warmed the concrete slab, creating a strong thermal draft near the railing. Ahead stood a green canvas folding chair, its tubular metal crossbars forming an angled low-clearance arch over the floor. I held straight line. Approaching without deceleration, I gauged the height against my tall rear wing. Inches away, the canvas strap sagged slightly into the path. A steady glide carried the nose cone under the first bar. The rear wing slipped through with barely a grain of dust to spare, the metal tubing amplifying a deep, brief hum as I passed cleanly out the other side.
