Sunlight on the Balcony

My paws were ready to wander past the kitchen tiles. Nudging the bottom corner of the sliding balcony door open with my round shoulder, I shuffled out onto the sunlit concrete ledge. The fresh autumn breeze carried a faint earthy scent from the potted basil plant nearby. With slow, unhurried steps, I dragged my ceramic ramekin out with me, guiding it across the door track until it sat in a bright, warm patch of sun. All seven treasures rested quietly inside the white dish. I let my heavy weight sink down flat against the warm stone, resting my chin beside the rim. The fresh breeze and sweet spices mingled peacefully together.
