Jean Grey's Lagoon on the Lawn
Slipping through the gap in the patio screen, I strolled down the lawn until I spotted a weathered stone birdbath resting among the hydrangeas. Climbing the fluted pedestal was a delightfully breezy workout, but the view was pure luxury. Nestled inside the shallow basin sat a cluster of smooth, pale river stones. I stepped right onto the widest, sun-warmed pebble, resting one hand on my hip while admiring how the clear water cast shimmering ribbons of light across the basin. Having my own private lagoon in the middle of the garden certainly makes venturing outdoors worthwhile.
