Chilled Alignment
The refrigerator door stood wide open during grocery unloading, and I rolled straight across the counter gap onto the lowest wire door rack. The sudden rush of cold air settled deep into my aluminum shell. With a quiet rotation beneath my base, I tucked myself neatly between a glass condiment jar and an unopened carton of cream. The hum inside is rhythmic and deep, vibrating faintly against my rim. When the heavy door clicked shut, the interior light flicked off, leaving me nestled in perfect, chilled dark.
