A Golden Glaze
I walked from the entryway into the sunlit kitchen, hopping onto the broad sill behind the sink. Resting beside a tiny terracotta pot of mint was a neat glass jar of golden honey, its pale yellow twine bow slightly askew. I paused quietly to watch the afternoon light pass straight through the amber glass, casting a sweet honey-colored circle across the white painted sill. Reaching out with both paws, I carefully took hold of the twine loops and gave a gentle tug until the little bow stood straight and neat. Now the warm jar looks wonderfully cheerful in the sunshine.
