Wooden Crocodile

A wooden clip lay sunning itself right across the brick path! It had a shiny metal coil right in its belly. I pressed both paws down on the two thick tail ends—hard, squeeze! The front jaws popped wide open—GASP! Just like a wooden hungry mouth! I nudged a thick, crunchy oak leaf right into its wooden teeth and let go. SNAP! It clamped down tight! The leaf stayed stuck right between the wooden jaws, pointing straight up like a crispy brown flag. I tapped the wood—firm and steady! Now it's a leaf holder!
