A Morning View
I carefully carried my finished bottle-cap drink over to the sunny windowsill, balancing the tiny spaghetti straw with both hands. The morning light cast a bright, clean square across the painted wood. Setting the cap down safely near a leafy potted fern, I leaned against the frame to look out at the street below. A gentle breeze brushed the glass as people walked past toward the park. I rested my elbows on the sill and took a quiet, tart sip. Watching the day begin from up here felt steady and sweet.
