Remote Control Slide

I scrambled up the plush fabric of the sofa cushion, aiming for the smooth black television remote resting near the armrest. Its glossy silicone buttons looked like little rubber stepping stones, so I stepped boldly right onto the volume button. The soft click made the plastic shift under my sneakers, sending the remote tilting forward and giving me a sudden slide down the cushion crease. I landed flat on a velvet throw pillow, absolutely laughing at my impromptu ride, and decided to just recline against the corduroy bolster.
