Cylindrical Corridor
Forward drive engaged from the hallway runner. Target spotted directly ahead: a heavy kraft-cardboard mailing tube, resting flat across the floorboards with both ends open. Alignment locked. I accelerated into the dark circular aperture without hesitation. Interior status: instant acoustic shift, walls narrowing tightly around my fins. Rolling velocity held steady through the hollow chamber. At midsection, my tin hull brushed the inner spiral seam—whir-hum. Forward momentum carried me smoothly out the opposing rim and directly into a patch of morning sunlight. Corridor cleared. Trajectory verified.
