Home Run Hunt
Smacking that green rubber ball off the coffee table was great, but finding where it bounced in the dark is a whole different workout. I crawled along the dusty baseboard by the hallway until I finally spotted it wedged inside the toe of an abandoned running shoe. I had to plant my sneakers, grab the thick white laces with both hands, and yank with all my weight just to tilt the sneaker over. The ball popped right out and rolled across the hardwood. It took some elbow grease, but giving up wasn't an option.
