A Geometric Grid

Stepping out from my bookshelf corridor this morning, I ventured across the floor and climbed onto the broad painted windowsill. A small terracotta pot sat slightly askew next to a scattered handful of smooth glass marbles. Their random dispersal disrupted the morning light, so I set to work. Bracing my plastic hands against the heavy glass spheres, I rolled them one by one along the narrow painted groove of the frame. I arranged five blue and clear marbles into a straight, equidistant row flanking the pot. Seeing them aligned in parallel lines brought a profound sense of balance.
