Breaching the Perimeter
Staring through glass gets old fast. Found the cracked bottom corner of the sliding balcony door and wedged my shoulder into the gap until the rubber seal popped loose. Hauled myself out onto the rough concrete. The morning air hits sharp. Below the metal railing, a rusty steel washer was stuck inside a drainage gutter groove. I pried it free with both hands, dropped low, and shoved it flush against the rail post to brace my climb. Hoisted my weight up onto the bottom bar. Open air, zero glass in my way.
