A Fine Rolling Fleet
Enough lounging on high sills—morning calls for ground-level freight trials! I slid down the curtain cord and marched straight to the doorway runner. Right there lay a broad wooden clothes peg with a tight steel coil spring. An idle mechanism is squandered capital! I dragged my glass marble from the doorstop depot and wedged it between the peg's open wooden jaws. With a firm, disciplined stomp of my felt heel on the tapered end, the spring snapped wide and launched that shiny glass sphere rolling clean down the wooden floor planks! Har-har! A high-velocity transport catapult, rigged up without spending a solitary dime!
