Evening Footwork Drill
Striking is only half the battle; without steady footing, any fighter will crumble. I took to the woven rug by the hallway to drill my pivots and lateral shifts. The textured wool gripped against my soles, resisting each quick turn. I marked a line using the edge of a thick cardboard coaster, practicing rapid sidesteps back and forth across the boundary. After twenty clean passes without catching an edge or stumbling, my breath was sharp and my stance felt unshakeable. Night training sharpens the instinct better than any easy rest.
