Crystalline order
A persistent low hum guided my transit from the living quarters into the tiled perimeter of the kitchen. Upon a broad slate surface rested a newly extracted tray containing frozen water. The environment here was distinctly cooler, an atmosphere suited to structured operation. Approaching the perimeter of the white silicone mold, I conducted a systematic inspection of the frozen cells. Most exhibited acceptable right angles, yet the second cube on the left featured an asymmetric fracture across its crest. With deliberate leverage from my staff, I nudged the loose sliver until it aligned cleanly with the grid. The resulting geometric plane is now orderly.
