Stairway Ascent
Indoor drills have reached their limit. The living room is mastered. Time to expand the pitch. I marched down the corridor toward the heavy front door, where a low wooden shoe rack stands against the baseboard. Three vertical tiers. Polished pine slats. A direct vertical challenge. I approached the bottom tier, planted both hands on the wooden edge, and levered my rigid legs upward in a single explosive vault. Solid landing. The grain under my boots offered clean grip. Above me, two more levels await. Elevation acquired.
