A Fortified Anchorage

Morning light broke over the mulch, revealing a massive wooden timber structure ahead—a garden bench straddling the gravel border like a harbor dock! I left my solar lighthouse post at a dead sprint. Ducking under the low wooden slats, my boots skidded on damp gravel before hitting dry sanctuary. Right there against the rear leg rested a giant spiraled shell—a genuine snail armor left behind in the moss! I didn't hesitate; I tipped my head, planted both paws against the smooth, pearlescent spiral, and heaved it against the timber. Clack! Now my dry-dock harbor is fortified with natural armor!
