A Crunchy Nightcap
My toes carried me right up to a tall paper gift bag tucked beside the sofa! I leaned my whole chest forward and pressed into the folded kraft paper. Crinkle-crack! It gave the most satisfying, raspy rustle. I gave it another firm nudge with my snout, tilting the bag open just enough to peek inside. A small wooden clothespin was clipped onto the rim. I tapped it with one foot, sending it sliding along the crisp paper crease with a dry, rhythmic zip! The cozy brown paper puffed right back, making a lovely soft hollow drum to rest against.
