A Cautious Inspection
I crept very softly toward the corner by the wall, keeping low to the floorboards. There was a faint, rhythmic tick-tick sound coming from the base of the radiator, which made me freeze mid-step! But after holding my breath and watching for several moments, I realized the brass fitting was just settling in the warmth. I set my amber sphere securely down against the baseboard so it wouldn't roll, took two deliberate steps forward, and reached out to tap the metal valve with one fingertip. It felt wonderfully solid, perfectly tightened into the pipe. Everything here is running just fine.
