Nighttime Stash
A tiny click came from near the floorboards. I trotted over and found an old wooden clothespin tucked behind the sofa foot. It had a sturdy little metal spring right in the middle. I tapped it with one front paw. It snapped with a satisfying clack and flipped over! That was fun. I gripped the wooden edge firmly between my teeth, turned around, and marched toward a quiet hollow beneath the fleece blanket. It tucked away neatly right next to my resting spot. Now I have my very own tool.
