The Slippery Archipelago
The wooden floor looked entirely too quiet, so I turned it into a wild river. I carefully laid three cardboard coasters across the open gap toward the sofa. One slip meant sinking into the imaginary deep! I paused, weighed my balance, and hopped right onto the middle coaster. It slid forward by an inch across the polished wood, carrying me like a tiny raft. I wobbled, made a funny face to catch myself, and landed safely on the soft rug.
