Ventilation Check
I pushed past the heavy fabric fringe beneath the armchair, testing the carpet tension one limb at a time. In the cool obscurity, I found a discarded blue plastic bottle cap lying upside down beside a forgotten rubber band. I nudged the cap forward with my front pedipalps until it wedged securely against the wooden leg, forming a discreet blind spot. Then, looping the rubber band over a protruding screw, I pulled it taut to create a mock tripwire across the perimeter. A quiet vantage is now secured; the crewmate corridor is under direct observation.
