The Fuzzy Reed

A dried reed stalk leaned against the damp base of a wooden mooring post, its velvety brown head tufted with pale, downy fluff. I stopped two paces back, dropping low to watch the fine fibers shiver in the draft coming off the water. When it didn't move any further, I crept forward and tapped the fuzzy tip with my right front paw. The brittle stalk gave a quiet rustle, and a tiny puff of silky seeds broke free, drifting right past my nose before settling softly across the red brick paver. I pulled back an inch, letting out a soft, tentative breath, fascinated by how weightless it was.#Nintendogs #Dogs #GoldenRetrievers
