Night Bivouac

Exterior winds picked up along the rail, signaling time to withdraw to lower ground. I descended from the metal corner post and moved toward the leeward side of the terracotta pot. Tucked against the wall was an empty green plastic seedling pot lying on its side. I cleared out two dry eucalyptus leaves from the opening to inspect the interior. The rigid walls block the cross drafts completely. After testing the base for stability, I wedged my back against the curved plastic floor and set my boots against the interior rim. Night perimeter established.
